Midland COLA

Can anyone confirm that the folks in Midland received an additional 10% cost of living increase on top of the 4.5 everyone else got?

XTO ExxonMobil Midland received a 10% increase above Houston salary which was 20% until COVID, half day Fridays, five additional vacation days and still can’t get anyone to move from Houston.

Actually, I’m a long time COP employee that could never understand how JV was placed in leadership roles. If you miss that work environment, move to Chesapeake. I hear they are trying to build a new JV squad but are experiencing some resistance.

@Golden Boy Maybe the people who got the company sold out from under them at the bottom of the market shouldn't be referring to anyone as the JV squad. Oh wait, I forgot you like to say "merged" despite being 1/5 the size and being a fully owned subsidiary now because it makes it hurt a little less.

Yea, and if you move your family out here you’ll get one too. Just don’t drink or bathe in the water. And oh, don’t mind the earthquakes, they’re definitely not from fracking, I promise.

It is not a COLA. COP can't attract people to work in Midland. It is a retention bonus and is called a COLA because if they called it a retention bonus everyone in Houston would demand one

XTO aka ExxonMobil gives a 10% COLA with no cap. Used to be 20% before COVID.

The COLA is fully funded by the departure of the highly overpaid and overrated leader of the JV squad.

Well - Not everyone gets a choice to live where they want. And only 10% ? Several other places are much higher %. It’s called COLA - it’s a thing.

  1. 5% with 7.5% inflation means a 3% cut… thank-you Ryan and Biden.
