What happened at Cityline

There was an internal memo received about an incident that happened in Cityline but no details were going to be shared on Monday. It had talking points for employees and for third parties, like the press. No idea what happened

I’m told that it did not occur at the workstation and that there were no weapons involved at all. Can we now just move on and let the family greave properly?

Nobody really knows what happened. Speculation is ok to do and it's ok to talk about it. I'm sure no one on this site willfully wants to hurt anyone. I think if anything they want to stop and help the mental illness.

I would tell you to revisit legalities but I think it’d be wasted on you since you’re here posting and “speculating” as well. It’s extremely disturbing that this happened at all, but more disturbing that it happened in a company building and there wasn’t a memo sent out immediately at least acknowledging the situation. This is a time where many people are struggling with their mental health and are feeling demoralized by many things including the current state of things at work. Our execs have indisputably fu---d things up to a point where it’s not clear there’s a path to improvement anytime soon. We report record growth and profits and yet sh-t on our employees with merit/bonuses. We DO NOT have competent leadership with knowledge of how to relate to their own employees, much less empathize with them and help them through things. Most of the people making these decisions think mental health is a joke and it shows.

You call that SH*T leadership? Many people since 1990 have exited their managers office and have cried profusely. Real leaders make people go up not down. SF since 1990 has lacked any ability to lead their employees.

It may be time to revisit a past consideration of placing metal detectors and TSA like personnel at all entrances to check everyone entering the buildings.

This is us in cubicle farm wanting to know what’s being done to protect us… or are we just disposable widgets?

SF no firearm policy speaks on its own merits. They have told us that in the event we hear gunshots, run to the closest exit. IMO that is the worst thing to do. Why? You become a target! The first thing you want to do is take cover. The second thing you want to do is determine where the shots are coming from then make your wise direction exit if unarmed. In a perfect world, if everyone was armed and a life was taken out of shear evil, the surrounding armed citizens would drop the shooter right there but most are anti firearm and fear firearms. Firearms are defensive only. IMO any other illegal use is evil.

Strange I work in the complex but not heard anything. Maybe it's because our building is separate from everyone else.

Give it a rest already and have some respect towards the deceased’s family and friends. They have enough on their plate already, what they really don’t need right now is seeing their loved one’s name dragged through the Internet mud.

There was a post the other day that an employee apparently ended it all with a g-n at Cityline, but it was removed.
