Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Employee Survey

Clearly, someone peed in the talent pool. After 2 years of Covid, headcount reductions, people doing the work of 3-4 people, sell of AirCentre, and loss of major airline customers, some ID10T thinks it’s time for an employee survey. This will back-fire like it has the last 3 times. Don’t look for the results, you will never see them.

Employee surveys may be distributed with good intentions, but no employee satisfaction improvements result from the surveys.

Looking forward to the next phony "New Improved Sabre" town hall, with the usual shills regurgitating the usual pre-approved questions. I'd like to see someone with huevos ask a real question just 1 time.

Oho! The toxic enthusiast visited the forum again. Probably representative of the low or midmanagemt.
Read carefully what has been written on the previous posts genius.
It has nothing or little to do with the pandemic and the fact that the company was hurt by it.

to all you whiners, maybe you havent noticed that there was a pandemic during the last couple of years which devastated the buiness we all work in. I think that SM and the team have done an excellent job in protecting the company and the jobs of most of its employees. Did you get VCP last year and will you get this year? I dont get what you are complaining about.

Just another useless survey. The results we won't hear about since they'll be so bad. The company is a shell of it's former self. It led the market decades ago and then never innovated anything. Everything it purchased it ruined with stagnation. Every department led by inept management. Now customers are leaving in droves. How much longer before it gets sold off?

The weakest point of this company is management. And I am not talking about SM.
I don't see much of his work.
But I did see our PMs, POs and other types of low and middle management.
Many of them are ok.
But there are some idi0ts, who think they are bosses not PMs and their role is to manage the slaves. With no clue what it means to create a strategy, manage requirements, heck - even create requirements. Measuring team velocity? Never heard of it.
But, instead, she is boasting about her MBA and posting on LinkedIn how geeky geek she is.
Go back to managing your fitness club.
And the more stoopid they are, the more arogant.
PM is not a boss. PM should be equal to the dev team and if she is not providing the right information and planning, she just should be replaced.

That’s the problem. There was never a call to action after non-anonymous surveys. They don’t care, or they’re really bad at analytics because I never saw improvement. Morale is so low. A good place to start improvement is at the very top!

Over the years how much has ever changed as a result of company-wide survey?? Always good to give us employees a chance to voice our concerns but will anything majorly change this time.

I don't see how a survey could be considered to backfire. An employee survey should not be viewed as a PR exercise but as a way to gauge employee sentiment and make the appropriate adjustments. If the company gets pummeled by bad reviews from the employees, then that should be taken as a call to action, not as a PR disaster or as a reason for exacting retribution.

A company needs to be in-touch with its employees and should work for an ideal where all stakeholders (owners, employees and customers alike) mutually profit from the enterprise. Management should let employees have their say and then man up and fix what's broken.

An employee survey undertaken in good faith is never not a good thing.
