I may be wrong, but it seems to me that the leadership has no vision at all. The future will look very different from today, but not in a good way. Precisely because a clear plan for the future is lacking. Maybe it's better not to think about the future here and look for a way out of Citi.

C is blacklisted by so many people its not even funny. The word is out, for employment, look elsewhere.
Citi is so out of touch. They hinge on the cult mentality of company loyalty but don’t want to compensate for it, so people leave..

ESG is the vision. It will save us all. Everyone knows that focusing on ESG brings in money, raises the stock price and corrects the balance sheet. Some people think that the ESG push is a smoke screen to hide problems but that’s not true. So long as we only focus on that, everything will all work out.

The only real vision is to make the stock price go up to please the shareholders. This might mean putting in a ridiculous vaccine mandate to try to get rid of people without paying severance or selling off everything to pad the balance sheet. Citi's unwillingness to upgrade things over the last 20 years is going to haunt them for years to come. The job market is crazy-good out there....never hurts to look.
