Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Why is a referral bonus worth more than the annual raise?

Can anyone explain the logic of why a referral bonus is worth more than the % merit increase to my own salary especially in todays economy? I’m not working here because I’m desperate for money, but I laugh at how much we are all getting played in the same boat.

If you got less than a $1500 raise, then you suck. Learn to do your job.

If you got a merit increase it would not be a joke-it would be a crime.
