so glad the c-suite is disillusioned by Horizons VDI being the great step forward in security and efficiency. Glaring security holes, techs unable to use the app, and overall a worse solution than 2x. Good job, CIO. Good job.

VDI I thought would be nice, with custom desktops, but it is so sluggish and you cannot copy paste any scripts. DSI is the worst database I have ever seen, It takes so many steps to add issues inventory a very clunky app.
@2ejh+1fb3thWl You obviously do not use DSI much at all. No searching by serial numbers and way too particular for part number descriptions for searching. It also needs an alarm capability for critical levels. In a word, junk, created by lazy coders. Typical of windstain.
I'd like to know how it runs with the VDI client vs browser based that its currently limited to. I will miss 2x. Salvaged a few of the SunRays, maybe we can go back?
Horizons looks great to those that do not have to try to use it.
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
Just the same as RDP (remote desktop) many of us have used in the past.
CIOs love buzzwords and paying vendors
What is VDI, and what groups use it?
DSI I'm familiar with. Great tool to outsource the inventory valuation to a third party.
Yes, it’s a difficult system work with and VERY slow to respond. In short, it’s trash as is DSI.
