I'm relatively new here and I was told when joining that I would be receiving a merit raise every year but going through posts on this forum it seems that might not be true. I've seen people claim they haven't received a raise in five years or more. Could that really be true?

I've managed to get a 16% raise from DXC.
I was on a crucial project, DXC was backed in the corner and decided to leave.
They counter offered and took it in covid times
It was stressful. but now looking for a way out.
How do you get fired in this company?
Hahahahahahaha glad I got the he-l out of this place.
Rasies at DXC are a joke, if you get one every 10 years or so. DXC increases are based on contributions and other factors such as where an employee may be at relative to market rates. So if your at the higher end of current market rates, but you busted your bu-t for the company you get nothing.
You're new at DXC? You have my deepest, deepest sympathies.
No pay rises at DXC; in fact, expect to go slowly broke as the cost of living far outstrips what you are earning.
Sharpen your skills, sharpen your resume and start looking for a new gig.
It's true.
Raises at DXC are very rare. The one thing you will get an increase in is the volume of work you're expected to do. That does not come with a corresponding raise in pay.
You've joined DXC? Start working on your exit strategy, now. You want to leave on your terms, not theirs.
5 % whos D_ck did u suck for that ? Never got more than a 4% increase in my 12 years with the company. All but 1 review was exceeds expectation and the bad review was from a lousy manager, the next 6 month review with a new manager they were all high marks
You ask, "Are raises an annual thing here?" From my experience, I would say raises are a "decade thing" since I haven't seen one since 2015 and have been rated as an employee that exceeds expectations!
@1dxe+1fa7nco7.
A 5% pay rise! you are very lucky.
I received a paltry 2% rise which has actually lowered my monthly income after tax and NI.
Like already mentioned - I am with the compony for 5 years with perfect reviews from manager and got pay raise exactly once with pitiful 5%.
Run away as fast as you can and don't trust anything they tell you.
Or just find second job and use this as passive income god knows that I know several people that are doing it this way.
Annual reviews (and I stress that word, it is a review, no guarantee of a raise) were reintroduced last year.
What you have heard is true, many people have had no raises since before DXC was formed by the merger of EDS and the E part of HPE.
Moreover the raises last year were, in general, pitiful. Not everyone got a raise.
If you want a decent payrise the only way to do so at DXC is either to leave, or, possibly, get a job offer and DXC may counter offer.
