Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Wait for a raise or jump ship?

Since we haven’t heard about raises.. are people just assuming the worst and dealing with the fact that we won’t get raises? Are you planning to jump ship to make up that loss / earn more?

How does a multi billion dollar company not pay its employees what they are worth when small companies / startups pay their employees tenfold. I don’t get it!!

Yes, AIG is more about outside service providers than the FTEs. Unless you’re grade 24 and above, then you’re good.

You may get a raise in the 23rd Century….as part of AIG 300….

If staying is based on getting a raise you may as well go.

Regular cost of living increases stopped when STI started.

Worth?

Supply and demand. They pay more if and when they have trouble hiring.

With the current business model that concern is pushed more and more to the partners and service providers hired to take over the work.
