Talented people don't leave good companies, they leave bad managers... (and Dell has tons of deplorable directors and first line managers).

It’s all men are leaving,

Reasons:-

  1. . Better opportunities outside of dell.
  2. . Descent pay compared to what dell pay.
  3. . Goals of 50% female employees, 40% female management, they know they are not going to get the promotions, so why wait around.
  4. . Look at quality of what has departed, look at what is left, does it look like they are competently.

I interviewed with Dell and I thought that they treated me quite badly. I was stuck in a stuffy, hot room and never offered a drink and was grilled by a panel of managers and engineers for several hours. The real shock is that I was expected to leave my current position without a raise in salary. I thought to myself that Dell employees must get treated like SH!T.

Simple Dell is not a IT company.

I want my enterprise running 99.9% not wasting time talking to Dell advisors who can't advice because they don't understand the IT infrastructure.

Why stay when the rest of the industry is offering 40%+ higher pay and leadership that actually know what the heck they’re doing? There are no viable career paths at Dell unless you have a buddy in upper management who will pull you up regardless of competency.

At the time I resigned my entire team wanted to quit. After I resigned, others outside of my team messaged me privately saying they plan to quit too.

These issues have been piling up for years. In marketing the root problems have always been in useless leadership that get promoted into roles that they have no experience in via connections. Then the clueless managers don’t know how to motivate their talent or even provide bare minimum job support, so talent leaves and the cycle continues. These managers are shielded from Tell Dell scores because no one is allowed to rate anyone but their direct manager.

If they want to fix the attrition they need meaningful salary hikes over the inflation rate and should get rid of 75% of anyone with a director or higher title for letting it get like this. (there are a few good apples but mostly useless dead weight)
