What about calling executive support line as the common helpdesk? I’m sure that wasn’t outsourced…
It is great! You get to meet people from around the world and try to teach them English while explaining your IT problem. It usually takes several calls and escalations to resolve the simplest problem, so you are really immersed in other cultures. I think this is what AIG means when they promote volunteering because I am volunteering AIG hours where I could otherwise be productive doing my job.
I met Lakshmana, but we became so close he asked me to call him "Joe". Yeah, we spent hours trying to reset a password. It was fun!
AIG is so diverse.
