I refused to get vax’d and was given the choice to be fired (no unemployment) or retire. I retired last month, along with a bunch of people I worked with. I was a 25 yr employee who worked fully remote. Literally no news stories about this. I had dinner with a couple of friends who still work there, they said no numbers have been released internally. TMobile had a $75 million budget reduction challenge this year; assume they’ll meet it after cutting so many people and not paying unemployment. Heartless company, glad to be gone. Sprint would have never done this.
There's been a hiring freeze (e.g., no backfills) for almost 2 years. If you're looking for a technical hire, Neville has to approve the opening of the req.
The 900 being let go on the 2nd would correspond to the number being fired (not laid off, therefore not requiring a ) because of not being Covid stuck, based upon Sivert's doublespeak in the all employees meeting a couple months ago.
If there's a rumor of "8K People" being laid off, that would be where the WARN comes in.
Several internal recruiters I work with told me a hiring freeze is in affect and every offer that goes out has to get approved. Also, several recruiters who were contractors were let go, a few of them were much better than the internal recruiters we have.
My guess is Monday April 4th will be layoff announcement. 💀 💀 💀
Word is about 900 people are getting let go on the 2nd.
IF you get let go, immediately file for unemployment.
Keep an eye on the news, some states are being required to re-hire anyone they let go and pay them backpay.

It is a vaccination forced layoff scenario when you don't mandate this company wide. Then after this more layoffs will come from over due thinning of the herd from the merger and then cost cutting. This is all to shore up the stock. Short squeeze. They are bleeding so much talent from top performers to VPs and Presidents jumping ship or walking. Not going to be pretty. This is on them and it is violation of my freedom of Religious rights. Civil rights act of 1964.
Except that it isn't a Vax Layoff. These folks are being fired. No package, no nothing. They've been paid out all their PTO beginning when they were put on Leave without Pay in February. They lose all their unvested RSU's also.
I know of at least 3 people I've worked with who are getting the vax axe.
I am being let go April 2nd. Government Account Manager. My senior leadership is very upset in how this is being handled. Mind you this mandate is only business side not retail. Better head for the hills. They aren't about honoring any medical or religious accommodations. It was a smoke screen of that even a option. Glad I got promoted to another role and am 100% remote making 200k+ a year. They are going to hurt from this decision for a long time. Bad idea 💡 rumor is its 8k people
