EV Quality better than ICE

Simply put, no.

Ford Motor Company is recalling a 2021 and a 2022 Ford Escape hybrid due to an issue with the high voltage battery. This recall also applies to a single 2022 Lincoln Corsair, as Ford Authority reported earlier today.

The defect: in the affected vehicles, the high voltage battery may suddenly fail.

The hazards: a failed high voltage battery can fail without warning, resulting in a loss of drive power, therefore increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: electrical system, hybrid propulsion system.

Affected vehicle: one 2021 Ford Escape hybrid and one 2022 Ford Escape hybrid produced at the Ford Louisville Assembly Plant between August 5th, 2022 and January 10th, 2022.

Ford does not make any good quality vehicles. If and when we sell any “data” (I can’t wait to see the financials break this number out next year), our data quality will not be any better than our vehicle quality.

Latest ICE recall. We will never learn the value of building in quality and reliability in any Ford vehicle.

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2016-2017 Lincoln Navigator models due to a brake master cylinder issue. This recall also applies to 2016-2017 Ford Expedition models, as Ford Authority reported earlier today.

The defect: in affected vehicles, a seal in the rear of the brake master cylinder may become compromised, allowing brake fluid to leak into the brake booster.

The hazards: a leaking brake booster can reduce brake function in the front wheels, which can extend stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: brake master cylinder.

Affected vehicles: select 2016-2017 Lincoln Navigator models built at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant between July 20th, 2015, and January 31st, 2017.
