Ford Motor Company is recalling a 2021 and a 2022 Ford Escape hybrid due to an issue with the high voltage battery. This recall also applies to a single 2022 Lincoln Corsair, as Ford Authority reported earlier today.
The defect: in the affected vehicles, the high voltage battery may suddenly fail.
The hazards: a failed high voltage battery can fail without warning, resulting in a loss of drive power, therefore increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Components: electrical system, hybrid propulsion system.
Affected vehicle: one 2021 Ford Escape hybrid and one 2022 Ford Escape hybrid produced at the Ford Louisville Assembly Plant between August 5th, 2022 and January 10th, 2022.
