I was only at AT&T for 5 months. 5 of the most horrible months ever under any employer. The whole culture is made to use you up and try to break you. They blame everything on you. The bosses are given tools and leeway to lie and fire people ar will for any reason. HR doesnt care. The Union doesn't care. The pay was better, but conditions were terrible. Every second your in danger of being fired. No pay is worth that.

The worst manager I had in my whole career was here at AT&T. He was in Chicago from the bumbling RBOC Ameritech. He didn't have a clue about mobility and was still focused on old residential wireline

A better question would be have you ever worked for a manager at AT&T that wasn’t horrible.

Well, it's only getting worse. Hiring people to check boxes isn't good policy. Moving people into positions they don't know anything about is not good policy. It's a cancer in corporate America right now. We are being laughed at internationally.

When you meet others from other garages and talk about bad managers? D. Lily was one of the worst and a racist. Took care of his own kind no matter how bad of a worker they were.

I had the best boss of my life at AT&T then I got assigned to Satan, he is the worst person, manager. He is belittling, insulting, insane, been reported to EEO many times but still has job, he is the one that needs to be laid off/ fired. I call him Satan because he is the worst human being I know of. His real name is Tim

22 year manager. Last one was a doozy, pushy, confrontational. So bad didn’t want to go in the office, got anxiety every time teams popped up. Pushed me to a new team and loving it, less stress. Had to endure almost 2 years…

Went from the best Male manager to a female manager that was the worst person walking the planet! She felt so threatened by men in general.. it as terrible, went from one of the best jobs in the world to the worst, where I was actively looking to leave the company just because she was my boss. I went from the best reviews, to her giving me the worst reviews... just as I was going to move on, I was moved into another group with a new manager and back to another great manager, and best reviews again!

Coworker elevated to manager role when previous manager took another job. Toeing the company line and making us listing the all the BS. And then asked, "everyone has any question or feedback?" You can hear the crickets over the phone.

I had 2 total POS that were just plain mean and jealous of me in every way and it was obvious! I have 2 college degrees and they had none between the two. I think they felt threatened by me.

37 years as an outside tech.
Retired now.
I had 18 1st lines.
Never paid attention to any. "Sure thing boss!!!"
8 deuces.
Most never knew my name.
Managers are disposable.
Smile and wave and say "YES SIR" and they'll be gone in a year.
none of them know anything about the job.
Entry level managers hold no sway.
