Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Why the staffing shortages

Considering the extended UI is gone, and there are no more stimmy checks coming, anyone else kind it surprised we still have a staffing shortage?

Not shocking when your turnover is 35 percent and climbing. To replace that staff, train new hires, move pending around accordingly, you’re just always robbing Peter to pay Paul. It’s a never ending cycle that nobody cares about fixing. It goes to show you how little this company cares for its customers or for its employees.

Why is the sky blue? Every company has shortages. Allstate just doesn't choose to do what is needed to retain talent. Ultimately, they make that choice whether we like it or not.

No, no one other than you is surprised. Allstate is an awful place to work.

You must be in leadership to be so out of touch with what Allstate pays their front line employees. It’s nothing. That’s why no one wants to work here

Not surprised. I was in claims. The number of assignments I received in 2021 was double from prior year, but I was told we were at the right staffing level. I worked 6-7 days a week and couldn’t keep up. Then I got a 3% raise. After speaking with adjusters at a competitor I realized I could make more money and have work life balance! And the micromanagement at Allstate is unlike anything I ever experienced at another insurer. I fully realize the grass may not be greener at my new employer, but it can’t be worse and at the very least I will be paid better!

No, because companies are awful at hiring, aren't paying enough, or both.
