Anyone notice this problem?
Work in agile squad and the IT team - there is one or two very smart ones and the rest have zero critical thinking skills

Not sure if the OP understands the game. Critical thinking is not critical here. Get in upper management, and get your kids in the upper management. That is about it. Everyone else has to work.

This applies across the board - IT or not.
it also applies in general populations. That's just how statistics works. I am sure you noticed the same all through out schooling - no matter how elite the school, there are always a few on the top, followed by mediocre masses and the tail end. Why would it be any different at Fidelity? The only thing that's different is that the average skill - no matter what dimension you choose..is well, average. Some are above that and some are below. If you look at averages across companies, you will see the same type of distributions. The talent of some companies is above average and some are below average.
BTW, critical thinking is not one dimensional. You might care about and know more about some topics and your critical thinking would be highly tuned to that. Others might not have the same interest or insights in that area but they might care about issues that you are not interested in. That's why teams are created - everyone brings something to the table.
I'd disagree. may IT folks are bright and very collaborative.
I am not in IT but we collaborate often, please do not talk down anybody.
