Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Done with this place

I'm making sure to research every company I apply with to make sure being promoted is based on merit instead of on who you know. I'm so tired of being passed over for a promotion because I'm willing to work hard but I'm not willing to kiss any butts. TR is rewarding brown-nosing and punishing hard work. Thank you, but no thank you. I'll rather sign out.

How can you even be promoted when we have a "flat" organization? And the only way you can get out of your role is a lateral move for the same or less money?

Lol good luck with that. Every place I've worked it's all about who you rub elbows with.

TR is not a place for hard workers who show initiative, have common sense and use logic. Found that out shortly after starting work there. It was the general lack of respect for its workers and its parsimony towards them that really got to me.
