Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

I like RTO

Ever since I got back to the office, I’ve been working a lot less. I start on time and finish on time ... not a minute longer. I didn't even bother counting overtime hours from home, there were too many. So, in that sense, I think most enjoy going back to the office?

@7hri+1fOmEXCj many of the companies in that article are hybrid or only a portion of the population is full time remote. Pretty much the same as us. Was that your point or were you reacting to the headline?

I look forward to unproductive time wasters at the office, over 2 years of being overworked and not compensated for the many extra hours I was made to work. My commute will provide a much needed buffer and mental reset.

@2vzq+1fOmEXCj Agree with everything, except that Service Now could fix a network connection in 1 hour.

Swipe in at 8:30 after getting kids on at school bus. Gotta pick up my free coffee and make small talk, I mean, collaboration, so don't make it to my desk until 9:00. Laptop has issues connecting to the network, it's 10:00 before Service Now fixes it. Hour meeting and oh look at that, gotta get down to the cafeteria before the lunch rush. Do some lunch collaboration and look at the time it's already 1:00. Have to leave at 2:30 to be home in time for the school bus drop off. Sure was a productive day!

Lot's of people are going to do that and productivity is going to take a hit. And, they'll wonder "why?".

I'm going to enjoy the free beverages, company paid climate control, and company paid office supplies and company paid toilet paper.

Bring it on.
