Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Is Abby Johnson the big foe against WFH?

I feel she is. She strikes me as a person stuck to traditions. Notice how her title is still "chairman."

Does anyone want to go back to the office to deal with hour long commutes and the chance of bringing home the virus? A new variant is spreading in Europe and Asia. It will hit here in a few months.

Are any manages getting the talking points for brainwashing employees into returning?

The reality is they have to justify all of that real estate.

Entry level relationship managers often get the title “managing director” so clients can feel important when talking to them. It’s not actually a director level position.

If that’s true, it was recently. Still true that she made director level right from college.

Actually her daughter left the company.

Don’t forget how coincidentally the year her daughter graduated from college, Abby happened to make a program for college graduates to quickly rotate through the jobs of fidelity and get experience without actually having to have lowly jobs. Her daughter was very frequently featured as what seemed like a random associate in photos on eworkplace. She is now already a director.
Please just give us regular people a good experience. We can’t compete with that.
I want to know how many people leave instead of going back.

wow, I guess it was different when you applied for your position at Fidelity knowing full well what employment there meant. Get off your high horse and get back to the office you entitled whiner.

Oh Abigail, it must be so nice taking your chauffeured luxury town car from Milton to the door steps of 245.

Entering the well-lit, spacious lobby to encounter a teeming mass of worker ants building a fortune for your Johnson clan.

Taking the elevator up to the 7th floor to preside over your realm, everywhere encountering looks of awe and respect from your workers.

Hang up on the 7th floor, eat from your very nice snacks - which you nicely share with anyone who wants to come up there - and do your work in what im sure is your quite nice office.

With such an experience, I'd want a return to office too.

But we the lowly workers have to endure horrific traffic and astronomical parking rates. Those in the city endure busses and trains that reek of deep pi-s. We lose two hours to that cr-p. We want that time with our family and with our hobbies.

So great Queen, hear us out. No back to office. No mumbo jumbo false flag about hybrid work. We will work from home to make you rich. Got it? We have been very productive WFH.

And if you order us back, great Lady of Fido, you will force us to flee your queendom and seek our bread elsewhere.
