Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

B&N Kitchen

Has B&N gotten out of the restaurant business? It looks like they have shut down The Kitchen at the Scarsdale, NY store.

LOL, of course a stupid manager trying to get promoted is saying unions are a scam. Do us a favor and take your BS and use it to sell one of your useless B&N member cards to impress your roaming regional manager!

Starbucks does not need a Union. Retail and service workers do not need a union. All you you do is give the Union part of your income. The companies will do whatever they want even with a union. Unions are a scam to steal workers pay and line the pockets of the union officers. Wake up Unions we’re on their way out in the 80’s as corruption was common.

Starbucks will turn UNION soon. B&N should have gone Union back in the 80s!
Too late now, now it's one of the worst places to work!

Who would hire people in management positions , in a company that’s going under and treats other employees badly ?
No reputable company.

everyone is so terrified of the Regional Managers and the corporate office.

The Mgrs were all brown nosers.
They know they’re in trouble when BN finally closes. Based on the store’s rep & job site reviews-No one will hire them.

All the ex-managers only have the worst things to say about Barnes & Noble.
Most of them were driven to quit or were fired for the d-mbest reasons. I'd love to see some managers tell the truth about what is going on today on this page. But they won't, everyone is so terrified of the Regional Managers and the corporate office.

BN kitchen was a concept. There was one at the Barnes and Noble in Edina, Mn. The food was very good! The restaurant was very nice! They closed all of the BN Kitchens when Elliot took over. They never really were able to produce enough sales to cover the expense and become profitable.

Here’s some info from an article when the Plano Texas BN kitchen closed.

The location debuted in 2017 with a smaller retail space for books, but with an upscale casual American restaurant called Barnes & Noble Kitchen. It was the first of its kind in Texas and one of only a handful in the U.S.

The restaurant was situated at the front of the bookstore, and served sandwiches, salads, burgers, deviled eggs, soup-and-salad combos, avocado toast, and hummus with veggies. They also had beer, including local craft labels; and wine, including wine on tap.

You are truly an obnoxious person. We’re you a manager at B&N?

I doubt it.. if they were a manager, they’d be lying and The Kitchen would still be open.

First of all, it's their not there.
Second, people are familiar with Cheescake Factory not B&N's moldy and stale foods with flies. The employees are but not the customers!

You already posted this. Most of us have no clue what you're talking about, so I'd venture to guess like everything B&N does- IT FAILED.
