Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Are you more dissatisfied with your manager or with the company in general?

Many people are unhappy. That’s a fact. But where is this dissatisfaction coming from?

Most of the people that i talk to from other teams have the most complaints about how their manager treats them or how the work is conducted within a certain team. Do you think you wouldn't be this unhappy if you had a better manager, or do you think that the culture is poisoned to that degree that it would be the same, regardless of the person that you report to?

MM sets the tone for everything. He's to blame for the poor culture and why so much aero negativity is on this site. His days are numbered as he can only pull the wool over people's eyes so long.

They value obedience over productivity.

Managers are not the problem. Every manager that has stepped up, stopped bad decisions from being made unchallenged, or demonstrated great team performance gets laid off.

The company values Managers that simply toe the line, willing to outer L without question, and make an employee feel heard and appreciated without actually lifting a finger to do anything. They are not to raise the alarm, report anything negative, or actually change anything. In other words, manager that the director never hears from.

The Managers simply perform as the company demands.

The problem is 100% due to the decision makers. DUH

The decision makers are the corporate execs. The CEO. Bottom line is Darius is a terrible CEO. He squeezed as hard as he could when times were good (pure greed). Now that the stock price is tanking due to nothing but short term thinking - there is nothing left to squeeze. He is out of ammo before the battle even begins.

All the talent has left CLW aero. They cannot meet their contracts - everything is pushing out. They want employees to work a zillion hours a week. Absolutely horrible management. I left a few weeks ago after over 20 years. Glad to be off that sinking ship.

Company. Bad managers from top pushing self serving edicts ruin the mostly good managers under them, and subsequently blame or push out those they ruined to save themselves.

Mostly the company, but I have also had a ton of terrible managers that only look out for themselves. This is a company you can't trust anyone and it's everyone for themselves.

I reported to a Director who was a good guy at heart, but every now and then he'd flash his fangs, which I almost guarantee was after getting his wrist slapped by the VP, who was a soulless cog in the corporate wheel. Dir. was replaced by a Machiavellian from the other side of the world who reveled in being part of the anti-employee machine.

Whether or not you're a good person to start out, doing corporate's dirty work to your staff makes you a complicit member of the mean machine. You cannot wash yourself clean as long as you stay in the hierarchy.

My manager and the next level up are good folks. I see them as protecting me from Honeywell itself. Honeywell alone is responsible for its policies and it is those policies that cause people to leave.

Yeah another troll … the way this thread is going: manager director VP are not responsible for the toxic environment they create, it is just the company itself and can’t be fixed. Free get out of jail card.
Let’s put the sh-t right at their doorsteps no excuse, you are responsible for failures. (especially if you’re the top mad devious dog)

Managers are feckless tools.
Pointing at managers as the root of retention issues is just another excuse.

Ptsd comment is right.
Entire workforce suffers from ptsd and it will take a generstion to fix.

Managers are victims not the solution.
They cant fix the unbalanced anti employee culture.
Many people on this site are senior managers and directors.

You are a coward.
Be honest and say why you keep trying to mine this community for opinion data.
Did the employee surveys and reggretible attrition not send the message?

The poison is the result of a decade watching the company squeeze employees and hand the money to executives and stock holders. It is ptsd.

I will retire soon and then i will have much more time to spend on my hobby of telling everyone about honeywell as brand and culture. We need a new jim pinto.
