Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Non-ethical behavior

I submitted my resignation. What else can be expected from colleagues here other than backstabbing, when AIG in general no longer has any ethics. All those who have no ethics themselves do better here. However, now I am no longer sure if this was ever an ethical company to begin with.

Wow this is disgusting. I mean, lots of companies don't really care about ethics, but very few would allow a staff saying it so straightforward. Out of curiousity, why it's an HR investigation? Anything HR does can be possibly illegal?

What actually happened that caused you to resign? Just backstabbing coworkers?

It's taken me many years to learn this lesson but the people without integrity in this world far outnumber those with it. You need to look no further than the spin doctors in the news that prop up incompetents.

Be objective and look to organizations that share your values which may or may not align with AIG's

I was involved with an HR investigation and the question arose about ethics. The HR reps quote was, "we don't address ethics, we are concerned if it is legal and if AIG could be held liable as a result of the action".

In other words, all is fair game as long as AIG can't be sued for it. If HR openly tells this to employees, then you know it is the message they receive from the top.

If you want a company with ethics, you did the right thing by putting in your resignation. Good luck and don't look back.
