Moving jobs overseas may have some positive effects on the company in the short term. I can't even imagine how big those savings are. However, in the long run, I think this strategy will result in a major disaster. I'm pretty sure of that. However, our leaders seem to be convinced that they are doing the right thing?

It is a stock company. Returning the best return for the stock holders is the primary concern of a stock company. Their moves will increase the stock price.
It is so funny that Allstate now longs to be the “cut rate coverage” that for years their ads said that they were not……
Agreed. Glenn learned from his mistakes at Liberty and will position himself much more securely while he decimates the Allstate brand. Pretty wild how the board is so out of touch with quality leadership.

You down here cutting on Arby's when they got the meats. SMH
Our leaders are drunk on the Big Blue Kool-Aid. Rather than create a more sustainable and profitable company by investing in people, technology, well-being, which should result in a great product and customer experience, we're taking the shortcut to profits by slashing costs, services, etc. What will be left is a low cost piece of cr-p company and product that nobody will want. It seems it's all a race to the bottom.
Will be the Arby's of the insurance world, it might not cost a lot and taste good going down, but it'll leave you feeling like cr-p later on and you won't want to eat there again.
They are seeking to automate way more jobs than they are trying to outsource.
Simply put, a lot of the jobs being performed by Allstate employees will be replaced or supplemented by technology replacements. Anything else will go to the cheapest labor they can legally hire.
My team was told in a meeting that CSLs were informed that Allstate wants to be the lowest cost insurer, period. And that more big changes were coming. Moving jobs to India will cut costs. People shopping for the cheapest rates will learn that cheap rates do not go hand and hand with good service. Tom & Glenn are looking for short term profit gains, by gutting the company, then they can take their golden parachute and leave Allstate decimated.
