A coworker told me they are so unhappy with the way the legacy business is being treated, they plan to quietly do everything possible to undermine work on the Model E side. My feeling is that this will not work out as planned.

This thread is one of the most funny ones (and accurate, too) that I have read in awhile. The 2 previous posts are spot on. We all just needs to sit back, watch and be entertained as Ford's "Best" destroys the Model E side all by themselves.
No need to actively sabotage. They've promoted so much incompetence, that all people that actually know how to do anything need to do is to just keep their mouths shut and let the id--ts burn things down. Management has done such an effective job of kneecapping their experts, they think they haven't any and need to hire expensive so called "outside talent". These people come in, and then get quickly buried in the Ford machine as they immediately see that if you want to move up, it is all about politics. So they too stop contributing least they land on someone's enemy list.
No need to sabotage, all the gasbags, showboats and sycophants will flock to the EV team. As usual there will be Hoopla and a plethora of SlideWare and Vaporware.
Then when results are not forthcoming, the knives will come out.
Like the previous post stated. I may not agree with the direction nor understand where this company is going, I will not sabotage anything. Until that time comes when I leave or SRD, I will put in 40-45 hrs. only. I will not participate in any company functions, surveys etc.. My trust , faith on our top management is gone.
I do believe that Bill and Jim are saboteurs. And just really really bad leaders too.
However, as unhappy as I am, I cannot bring myself to sabotage things. I will put my best foot forward for myself and my coworkers. If I ever get to the point where I don't care enough to where I am open to sabotage then I will leave the company.
Now, being apathetic about things? That is another story. I will be buying competitors myself. I will not believe a word that leadership says. I will put in my 40-45 hours a week and do the best I can on what I am working on, but I will not be going the extra mile, volunteering for things, participating in non-work related activities. From now on they get what they pay for!
Perhaps the Detroit Free Ford Press will do an in depth report on this humanitarian angle of the plan. Hunger Games, anyone?
