Of course they throw stones at everyone in positions of authority. Most of the posters are lifers fighting to hang on to their low pay, low skill job at a failing company in a dying business. The cuts have been coming on an annual basis for over a decade. The only person that is abusing bookstore employees anymore is the one staring back at them in the mirror.
Now we judge people based on what they wear? All companies outsource and there’s plenty of case study to show that it’s more efficient. Even more so when you have a company filled with whiney crybabies that hate everybody above them regardless if they know them or not. We’re for certain better served by outsourcing as much as possible. Look at this site. Within one week of the new leadership arriving you were all complaining about them. Your tiny self esteem is obvious in your jealousy.
Is that why he wore a tracksuit? To have more mobility well fighting them? And was he actually meditating before battle, not sleeping, when we would walk by his office?
He outsourced just about everything and walked away with millions. For those defending, you are not going to get a promotion on this site for defending.
Anybody that would put MS in the same category with RM, TL, TH and CW doesn’t know these people at all. I worked at the other end of nine from these guys. MS was a really good man that cared about the company and the people struggling in the field. He fought those same evil guys for what was right and fair and it’s not a surprise to me that the PE firm picked him up.
Good for MS. He is a good attorney and I am sure he will be very busy with all the changes that a PE company will put Follett through.
MS is back working at Follett.
RM, CW, TL, TH, MS, and BM are all counting a million dollars in windfalls from their golden parachute (yes they got them) and stock options. They are now like the "sears executives" that joined Follett and brought Follett down.
Correct. Look that the losers Follett hired. HR does not seem to do their due diligence in hiring and are never held accountable for their failures.
Yes, it's all for the best!
You may not like it but all these folks, unless they choose retirement, will land and do as well or better then they did at Follet. It is a hot job market and they have experience both good and bad that the market desires.
MS IS BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!!!!!
These folks were promoted to their level of incompetence, they may have been stellar and effective performers in lower level positions.
At some point managers are promoted to a level where they are not subject to lay off any longer. Once they've attained that level, new jobs and opportunity are almost assured. Their failures may cause others to be laid off, but they are the ones who decide who is laid off. Can't explain why. I know that after 40 years in the work world, this has always been true.

100% correct. Big companies seem to like to hire failed leadership.
Look at Follett with all the losers from Kmart, Sears, and Di-k's.
Big companies seem to lack the due diligence in their hiring process or something else is going on?
They will move onto other companies and take them down to their knees like they did at Follett.
I wouldn't worry about them. They will take their severance and move on to greener pastures. They will make as much as they did at Follett or even more wherever they land. All of the people you mentioned have learned a very valuable lesson from their careers. It does not pay to stay with any single employer for the long haul. Someone else will always pay more for your experience then your current employer will. As far as TL, he is set for life, no need to worry about him. Look at all the senior people that have been let go over the last 10 years, they have either retired or move on to more lucrative opportunities.
JD isstill pretending to be an intellectual running the Seminary Coop. Poor Chicago.
Much like MLS, after the disaster she left at Follett, she has a career sitting on boards sharing her vast wisdom at ruining, I mean running companies.
As far as TL, he stated..
I will be continuing my board and committee work at
Brookings Institute
Lake Forest Graduate School of Management
TCU Chancellors Advisory, Reading Power
London’s Stationers Guild
Additional efforts will be supporting the Follett Family Legacy Advocacy plans and re-engagement in the Educational Sectors served to set the next steps in my career.

They are still on extended vacation. I'm guessing their severance packages were very generous. As far as JH, you have to know she was never a real option for the ole boys club. She'll probably be out of here within a year though.
