An absolute joke. I don't understand how you can honestly tell your employees that by reinventing the wheel they should be rates as Expected. Do you want to set the precedence for your company to become stagnant/complacent, then keep doing what you 're doing. This company used to be a great company to work for, but now it is on the opposite spectrum and pulls as much as it can out of their employees only to pay them minimally for their efforts. Sr. Executives wants to protect their 'golden parachutes' and don't value the lower level employees.
