Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Can you believe.......

Can you believe they would have the audacity to send out an email to all current and retirees for 100 year anniversary with link to the company store for an employee or retiree to purchase 100 year celebration items? Boy! To buy anything to advertise for them is definitely a sign of addiction to their kool aid. Sorry, but no organization will ever have that kind of power over me.

If they give a meal voucher like they have in the past, I'll join the walkout to go pick up lunch.

Just imagining the look on some of your faces when you have the sudden realization that THESE are destined to be your "Good ol' days".

@3jdz…never raised any kids, actually. Just the breaks but never had any. So I definitely did not fail them.

@1ett. You raised the younger generation to be what they are. See what you raised. Take responsibility for your failures.

The hypocrisy of this company continues with robot management sending out ridiculous messages of gratitude to employees.

There's a real cognitive deficit with some of the younger folks.
On one hand, they spew on about how the company is nothing without them, and they are the heart of all of it. The previous generations were all worthless (and spent their time not by making their own living, but scheming how to ruin the world for the next group)
Yet somehow, all those worthless old people were magically endowed with a great company to work for, while the newer folks, for all their greatness and importance , are apparently so completely ineffectual that they bear no responsibility for the quality of the company currently composed of, oy yeah, themselves.

The previous employees and agents actually built this company. Current employees and agents inherited it. You are welcome.

@1jkr Just stop the whining. And stop pretending to know what all the previous employees at State Farm did. Millennials, especially, have this strange and really incorrect vision of a utopian past where everybody had loads of money, free houses and cars and flew around on unicorns. Didn’t happen that way for any generation. You are here, now, in this current world. Make the most of it.

@fnm. The current employees are doing more than past employees and will get no retirement check. Yes, they worked for it and deserved it but today's SF oh he-l no. You don't get what you work for. They have cut just to cut.

@cua—they lived their lives, faced their challenges, and earned their retirement. You might try that. It’s way more effective than whining about what somebody else owes you.

@ejn+1 Yup! They left a job that was respectable and the company cared. It's not that way anymore PERIOD! Think about that when you get your pension check and those same kids will never get theirs. And if you believe it is the same, crawl out from underneath your rock! You are probably one of those who disrespect truckers, but shut them down for one week, you wouldn't know what to do because you've never put one day of manual labor in. You are a sick sit behind your desk type. Even if they sell them at cost, they are still telling us to buy their kool aid and support their product at our expense no matter how you dice it. Stop trying to sell a false narrative to live of OPM.

@ejn and those same retirees would be shocked at what this company has become. You can buy their trinkets at cost and eat up their BS, I choose not to.

The OP is a great example of the self centered , me too millennial crowd. They sell them at cost-they make no profit and I have spoken to several retirees that really appreciated the email. I hate to break it to your negative mind but there are a lot of retirees that have fond memories of their time at the Farm. The fact you think your opinion is the only one that counts speaks volumes.

Many people are interested and are buying those items. Here’s how this works……if you don’t like them, nobody’s making you buy anything.
Now, wasn’t that easy?

Their motto: I'll take your money, pay you nothing, and make you believe they are doing you a favor. Also, promise you something for tomorrow and not keep their end of the bargain after you work your tail off to try and obtain it.

The more profitable they become, the cheaper they become. And arrogant. There's very little humility starting with Tipsturd.

Totally agree, you want me to advertise for you then you better be giving it to me for free. And for free still not sure I would wear it in public. Maybe mowing my grass or changing the oil on my car.
