Windstream paying big money , some upwards of 5000 bucks payable to workers to get their buddies to join the circus. It’s sad knowing they can’t obtain any decent candidates by reputation alone … I mean didn’t all these potential candidates see the Newsweek’s top 100 most loved places to work. Wow, now that’s fake news at its finest.

Another example of ineptness of higher management. What should one expect with a ceo that tweets about his dog on his company twitter account. The construction jobs are to build out Uniti’s fiber replacing Uniti’s copper. Any fiber builds done by Windstream reverts back to Uniti. There’s an internal hope of doing maintenance on Uniti’s fiber with these new construction crews. It won’t work all over and bodies will be squeezed after 2 to 3 years due to constant Windstream layoffs monthly. I’m waiting on my review to ask about a raise. I wouldn’t recommend Windstream to a homeless person it’s a sorry place and has the worse upper level management team of any telecom company in history.
I suppose you could make a deal with your friend to split that money once the required employment period has passed. Then your friend could go back to what they were doing and you'd have a raise this year. Otherwise, you won't be getting one. Just an idea.

This construction lineman start up idea is going to back fire. Spending millions of dollars for equipment to dig trenches and put poles in the ground & wrap the world with fiber. Windstream received a pile of money from Elliott management & let’s go Brandon. So hurry up all you green horns , make the money now because when the well goes dry we’ll all be out on the streets again. Once the bean counters look at the cost comparison of contractors vs in house doing the work it’ll be lights out. But hey , your buddy got 5000 Washingtons for getting you hired.
And when your friend discovers what a dumpster fire this is and that you made money off the friendship.... I expect you won't be friends.

Years without out a raise, but they are shelling out 5k bonuses for new inmates. HR seems to be ignorant what this does to morale and motivation.
