Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Where does leadership make their biggest mistakes?

I'm a little disappointed. They look like they've totally lost their direction. This company needs fresh ideas.

Fresh ideas are overrated. We are a mature industry. It’s fairly easy to see what works and what doesn’t. Our leaders aren’t lost. They have different objectives. It isn’t about reserves or production unless that is what serves their objectives. Wealth, power and social acceptance in their elite social circle of growingly progressive friends is what matters to them. It’s about being principled. You mean nothing to them.

We've tuned into a serial acquirer. Wall Street seems to like it. Who's our next target?

'Guy and his cronies have no idea how to look for oil and gas. '

Problem solved.... All the cronies need to do is get someone to find the oil and gas, then take it from them.

You cannot lose something that you did not have.

Champ needs to go. Guy and his cronies have no idea how to look for oil and gas. They’re investment bankers and money launderers, not O&G professionals. We’re skrewed long term.

@1dna+1f585ms4: A company can be financially strong, but still be royally screwed up.

Do not agree a bit. You have no idea what you are talking about. The company is the strongest ever and possibly the most financially sound oil and gas company in the world.
