Our CEO is wanting employees to share thier experiences of working at Windstream for new hires. Please Share.
I once had a severence package of 26 weeks pay. That was reduced to provide more wealth for the Excutives.
I once had a PPO medical plan but that was replaced with a High Deductible plan.
I once thought my skillset, work performance and education could move me forward until I ran into a wall of nepotism so thick it could deflect all hope.
I once had hopes and dreams but now only anger and despair.
Want some of this Windstream Culture?

My regret is not that I left windstream. My regret is all the years that were. Wasted there.
I would not classify him as a CEO. MORE Like THE RINGMASTER OF THE CIRCUS.
Sure I’ll share my story with new hires trying to lure potential new hires to Windstream. I along with many of my coworkers have 25+ years of service and experienced so much change over the years. The old days of actually caring and being proud of the company you work for are gone. This was changed when things became Windstream after they gobbled up all the little mom & pops providers out there. Promises and lip service on stream told us how great this new vision was going to be. And then bo-m , the bankruptcy. The fat cats were acting like heck we can’t lose this case. Well we lost and lost bad. The stock died and so many employees lost most everything in their 401k’s because they had Windstream stock. But wait … big boy in Arkansas and his tribe were given a nice fat bonus to stay motivated and stay here and run the ship. Wow … now that’s a morale booster. No consensus for your failure but yet get rewarded. Unbelievable ! So yeah , I would suggest anybody that was employed here pre bankruptcy get a golden handshake and severance to leave because they will never forget what really happened here. The new kids on the block really don’t care because they live with mommy and are so far out of touch they make great employees.
The I don't care anymore is pervasive. HR and CEO begging for employees to find job candidates is pathetic. Once, I mention to people how I average less than a 1 percent salary adjustment over the years they laugh.
If you have no pride in your work and want to suck an easy paycheck down until the day you get your pink slip, it's a great place to work. I made a six figure salary and did maybe 3 or 4 hours of real work a week. I could have gone fishing every day, and nobody would have known. I left before they could lay me off. Not making quite what I did, but I'm busy, productive, and have amazing benefits at my new job.
Everyone thats left is miserable. 95% of the management are sycophants whose only goal in life is finding a vacant piece of real estate on a higher ups 4$$ to attach their lips to. The rest are just trying to hide until they can also escape. You will be used, manipulated, berated, and lied to. If you have no pride in your work and can just ignore all of this it can be easy money. Until you get laid off with no notice. Take it for what it is, don’t plan on making it a career.
Windstream is a raging dumpster fire. Just think.... You can be on a call with people overseas who have no idea how to read a circuit design, nor any idea how to troubleshoot their way out of a wet paper bag.
Fear not! Tony will share his book reviews and latest epiphanies from the French Alps to cheer you up.
There are no raises for salaried employees. Nor is there compensation for the ludicrous amount of overtime you get to work since we're understaffed.
Come to work for Windstream to build out Uniti’s network. Salary employees get no raises for inflation. Outages galore because of outdated equipment, no network spares, knowledge base long laid off or retired. It’s 2022 and there’s no plan of what network equipment will service the ILEC going forward. The ceo posts on his company twitter about his dog, his hikes, his trip to the alps. States blatantly to employees “this is not a jail”. You’ll get to work with some of the most unqualified leadership ever imagined. C Level executives will get on calls and ask about rudimentary equipment failures or tdm outages for customers in lower tiers of revenue. Some you’ll work for but never hear from besides on broader company calls known as brown nose water cooler talks. I am waiting for a package, unless a opportunity comes up where I’m located if your a potential employee my suggestion would be Windstream at last resort.
New hires are going to be hard to come by when they read the reviews here and on Glassdoor!
AMEN. So true
