We're having trouble hiring to replace those who left. I don't like this management but I don't think even they are stupid enough to have a layoffs round when we're desperate for more employees. What exactly would it achieve other than making everybody's lives harder, including theirs?

They will create any reason to eliminate you. That's US corporations. The ONLY thing the US regime cares about is money and more money. That's it. Sickos.
Why is almost everyone at risk? Why doesn't the company value us or care about us? We work so hard.
Yes, there will be layoffs. If you are not in a job that is considered important to the business to achieve its goals you will be laid off. Unless you are a Software Engineer etc. you are at risk.
