Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

No severance for 2022

Based on Esurance folks that have no place in NatGen it would appear that severance will not be offered to any layoffs in 2022.

Told to find a job within company or leave.

Changes to the severance plan require a vote by the board of directors and publication on the intranet as a change to employee benefits. When this actually happens, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it did, that’s your cue to gtfo if you haven’t already.

It was really no surprise that Allstate would be doing away with severance for most areas. After they underestimated how many states allowed laid off employees to double dip and Allstate also being on the hook for a lot of their unemployment as well as severance they paid out a lot more than they anticipated in 2020. A lot of people between severance and getting unemployment banked a lot of money .

This is why people shouldn't hang around just to collect severance. It's always better to take control of your future.

It would not surprise me because senior leadership moaned about the cost of severance packages given in 2020. If that is actually true, one last back stab and betrayal of the employees.
