@5poa+1eydYPwu NSG was losing money because of XPoint. NAND was perfectly profitable before the F68 expansion.

Unfortunately the memory industry is full of losers. Buying intel’s unprofitable nand flash memory business and making it a standalone business is a complete bozo act.

By the way, Intel’s nand business was unprofitable when the memory industry had their best years, swimming in high profitability due to supply shortages and high prices. Intel’s NSG was unprofitable during those years!!!

The only smart company in the memory industry is Samsung. The rest of them are badly run businesses. Hynix was a bankrupt company saved by SK. Micron, toshiba etc. all just got lucky due to supply shortages. Otherwise why would you waste your company’s money buying a non profitable business and their clueless leaders and on top of it, letting them continue as a stand-alone company. There is no limit to stupidity.

Intel optane is the same story. Bad people still running a bad business, wasting money. On top of it, two promos this years in data center were given to 2 people in optane - I guess results DO NOT matter!

Our management, values, OKRs have no credibility. What they say and what they do are completely opposite.

The rest of NSG should also be flushed down the toilet.

How is it Samsung, Micron, Hynix, are growing and making huge sums and Intel could never make money?

Samsung rode excellence and booming growth to kick a$$ and gave Intel a can of whoop a$$ to become the largest semiconductor firm.

I’d say BoD, Bob and Pat are looking in the wrong place to get Intel back on track.

Instead they decided to focus on foundry-twice struck out, technology - third place, manufacturing - likely 6th place.

All in all a good way to go out, focus on three things they $u-k at, but hey get government dollars from India, US, Germany, and many more. Looks like Pat is all onto making Intel the welfare semiconductor company all in the name of chip security, go Pat we love you and happy 2022, FUBAR
