I know some people are staying because of severance and frankly, I think that's a huge mistake. Severance never lasts as long as you hope it will. I know, I've been laid off from another company before. Right now, with the job market as good as it is, you might be missing a great opportunity because you're waiting on a 'maybe' that's not going to solve all of your problems. There has never been a better time to leave if you are not happy here, you should not miss it.

Most people who stay waiting for a package have been here so long they know they wouldn’t get a job anyplace else so they stay. I’m here 2 years so a package to leave probably is not even worth anything. Seen a few get to retirement age hating the job but stayed in perpetual hope of getting laid off.
The 'happy police' will make it all better in 2022 !! They will look at what makes us all miserable and put it right. If you believe that......
The only ones happy here are those have been able to feather their nest and play the system. These are the same people who would c**p themselves if they were ever found out and released.
Senior management has made a total meal of it. They do not seem genuine when they say they care as they get caught offside with every tough question and too obvious/direct in their attempt to cut costs. Yes you overpaid for Refinitiv but don't throw away the people that can make it work... You're
no better than any other nameless NewCo run by consultants.
Seems like severance terms are changing and the luxury packages of the past may not be part of any future employment actions.
I agree with you 😉
