Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

RTO Playbook

I mentioned previously that the Banks Operating Committee is disconnected from reality. No idea what the great resignation was. RTO is part of the OCs playbook. No matter what you make of it we have psychopathic, egotistical, and self-centered EVPs running the show.

Just got off a phone screen with a large bank allowing WFH and they were shocked at the RTO and 401K approach. They will wait for bonus payout by setting a start date of mid Feb early March to get the talent from WF. They also said they are talking with other people in my Division. Dang!!!

Dear WF leaders, you will lose your good people first. Is this a game of chicken? What metrics are you focused on that justifies your hardline decisions? Metrics only focused decisions fail.

It is true. Interviewers are shocked that WF is forcing people back to offices. Not just banks. Prior to covid finding a mid-level, non-developer FT WFH job was difficult. Now I have a pick of jobs. Good riddance WF. They have to pay those leases on all those buildings cuz leadership listened to some d-mb@zz who wanted directs 5 paces from their feet. ID--TS!

I am not an attrition statistic. I will stay with WF.

The priority is worker attrition that doesn’t involve paying severance. The inevitable brain drain that the organization will suffer from the most qualified of us getting poached by other employers, early retirement, or exit from the workforce isn’t even a concern that leadership has taken up. It’s a sinking ship. They’re just worried about their golden life preservers.

Attrition is a metric. If that is all they are following meaning metrics it’s not the only thing to gauge positive results. So it proves my point. Metrics driven decisions miss the mark. It’s plastered all over HBR articles for years.
