Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Do you have a plan prepared in case you're laid off?

What steps would you take?

My entertainment plan will be sitting back and laughing as most of the 3x, 4x & 5x jabbed guinea pigs start to die off -- LMAO!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from the virus they got vaccinated against because you're not vaccinated.

You think it is bad now? Wait 2 years for the bill to come due on the fed easy money.
1970 2.0 is coming and honeywell will RUN for bangalore and southeast asia to escape the US.

michelle obama running for president will be the bell weather.
If she runs you get 4 more years of overheated economy and the rich getting richer.
If dems run a second tier like kamala then the fix is in.. they know a hardliner is needed and pain is coming.
Honeywell will drop 50 percent of remaining US workforce when the money dries up. They already have the plan. Target is 15k US workers by 2030.

When I first started this company. Encountered the toxic environment. The management which is totally out of control. I decided to have an exit strategy. Which is going to be implemented.

I will be looking for a new job starting in 2022. I saved all my sick time. Also going to have three weeks and three days of vacation. In order to use to find a new job. I wish you all luck with this company.

Maybe, I will be wrong about your future. However, I have eyes and can hear what people are talking about. They told me I have less than three years. I work in aerospace division and believe it will be sold, spin off, or relocated to a lower cost region in three years.

Wait too long. You’ll have major competition from all the people who will be affected by Honeywell‘s decision. I’m leaving before more competition joins me. Then it will be harder for me to find a job.

I’m definitely not going down with the SS Honeywell titanic.

Individual states determine unemployment benefits. Kansas just joined other states in passing a law that allows unemployment benefits for those affected by fascist jab mandates...

Hmmm . . . The info I have says that if you are laid-off due to the "vaccine" mandate, you are NOT eligible to collect unemployment.

I was laid off last year with only 4 weeks of severance. Here's what I'd been doing before that time:

  • Had a year's worth of expenses saved up, liquid
  • Kept current with my industry contacts via LinkedIn and webinars

Here's what I did as soon as I was laid off:

  • Gave myself permission to take some time off before starting a job search
  • Applied immediately for unemployment and the federally backed additional funds
  • Refinanced my house at a much lower interest rate
  • Got 2 new industry certifications
  • Stopped buying stuff I didn't absolutely need
  • Started cooking more from scratch using store brands rather than national brands whenever possible. Used what was in the pantry before going to the grocery store again
  • Bought small quantities of organic produce so it wouldn't go bad before I used it
  • Took supplements recommended for immune system support
  • Stopped salon visits and went DIY on appearance, using cheaper personal care items than before, all purchased at deep discount stores
  • Switched to homemade cleaning supplies (e.g., baking soda, white vinegar) where possible
  • Used rags cut from worn-out clothing for cleaning rather than paper towels...and had the toilet paper shortage gone much longer, they could've been used, washed, and reused for that purpose as well
  • Got to know the area around me better by taking trips to local points of interest, hiking trails, farmer's markets, etc., rather than hopping continents
  • Treated myself and spouse occasionally to a meal, event, or thing so we didn't feel deprived
  • You get the idea. Simpler, cheaper, healthier.

Now that I am working again (for considerably more than HON paid me) and can WFH, I am maintaining these frugal habits and finding it rewarding.

Conclusion: A layoff and a pandemic can spawn a pleasant and healthy new lifestyle. This is understandably more complicated for families with children at home, but still doable to some extent. Don't fear a layoff but do see what you can do now to be financially stable and re-employable when the time comes.

Why prepare to act when you can just act?
Get your side gig going. Write code, sell a product, cut lawns, whatever. Don’t plan .. do.
That worry about being laid off will manifest. Your subconscious is telling you already.

I have one year of cash. Debts are low and I am always looking for a better job to keep my resume and interview skills current.
As an engineer I can assume I will be laid off eventually. It is the nature of the job.

I plan to apply for unemployment and spend at least a month de-stressing. Financially, I should be okay with that. Then and only then I'd start job hunting.
