I don't think they used to have much control to begin with, but now I think they have lost all control over attrition. That's my opinion. I wish it wasn't true and that those at the top know what they are doing, but it seems to me that everything has been out of their control for a long time. What do you think?

All executive management cares about is stock price, because of the stock options they have. They don't care about our customers and definitely not the employee's.
Want to save money and get more out of the staff, get rid of two-in-box management/[people managers and just have your functional manager be your people manager as well.
What makes you think attrition isn’t the plan?
Get rid of the expensive knowledgeable employees without messy redundancies or WFRs, and bring in cheaper but way less experienced employees. It’s the old meme, but without the ??? step:
- Encourage attrition
- Cheap hires
- Profit!
