Intel apologises in China over Xinjiang supplier statement

Shame on Intel! Putting profits over everything else! Is that the new way of building a new Intel by Pat?

I doubt the situation was ever different, except maybe in Cold War times. But it's also a moment when China got US support to start growing.
To be honest folks I don't know how you could live in a such world of doublethink and doublespeak. Intel claims to support diversity&inclusion&other utter sjw cr-p, but at the same time is supporting censorship and concentration camps. I doubt Pat or any other funny talking head would ever admit this. They'd just continue to pour the kool-aid during the official meetings, calming most of you folks.
Me living in a snowy shthole country and watching how my or chinese government push the civilized world their agenda makes me really sad.

Why does anyone expect corporate America in general and Intel in particular to be anything but opportunistic?

An apology was the wrong response. The response should have been for Intel to wind down employment and production along with supply chains in China.

Pat: "Let's go woke"

China: "Then you go broke"

Any irony in the nation with the least "diverse" tech companies calling the shots and telling the "most diverse" tech company to bend over on demand?

I wonder why China hasn't forced Pat to apologize for referring to Taiwan in this manner:

Gelsinger said that Taiwan — home to an entire, vibrant ecosystem that has woven technology, culture, business and competition into a hub of the semiconductor industry — is at the heart of much of the innovation transforming digitization.

Shouldn't Pat retract that statement and replace it with "Chinese Taipei" as he kowtows to Xi Jinping while hiring John Xina as Chinese translator?

This was an embarrassing move. Companies that virtue signal improved treatment of minorities while simultaneously tolerating this abuse of Chinese people are gutless. And the fact that the CCP will ultimately pilfer or reverse engineer Intel’s product to produce it themselves will ultimately mean Intel layoffs delayed, not prevented.
