Thread regarding Sears layoffs

SB360 Empty

Welp, looks like the SB360 list emptied out:

https://www.sb360.com/select-projects/events/sears-list/

If I click on that, it just redirects to a generic SB360 page with no mention of Sears or Kmarts. I wonder if Sears ended their contract with SB? Perhaps the next closings will be through someone else? I can't remember when I last saw zero stores currently closing at any given Time.

SB360 is the only liquidator that Lampert has sold stores to, since 2020. He has, closed some stores without liquidating (like Astor Place) but he has not sold stores to any other liquidator since 2020. Before 2020? Yes, I think he sold stores to Gordon Brothers.

SB360 isn't the only one Eddie uses.

Hopefully after New Years we'll get some more. I'm not predicting, because only Ed Lampert Knows what will happen, but I'm just hoping.

Oh OK, I'll take your word for it. I just don't remember it ever having been empty since they took over closings in 2020, but I believe you. Let's see when they start adding more again. Probably after New Years Day.

The list has been empty at least once before. I don't remember exactly when.

Maybe they have finally “right sized” the store fleet. 🙄🤣

Can you give me an example of when SB360 was dry of Sears/Kmart liquidations? I'm drawing a blank on that. In the past, there have always (as far as I remember) been more liquidations added before the prior list runs out. This Time, they just let the old list run out without adding more to the pipeline.

SB360 has been dry of Kmart and Sears store liquidations on occasion. Nothing new to see here. It doesn’t mean the end of the road for SB360 to perform liquidations for TransformCo. It simply means there aren’t currently any Sears or Kmart stores that have been announced to close for the time being..

@scn+1er85PyA SB360 doesn't get Paid. THEY PAY to purchase stores from Eddie Lampert, with the intent to liquidate. Also, Transformco is a private company so it wouldn't be subject to bankruptcy in the same way a corporation would.

SB360 probably hasn't gotten paid , like other vendors. Nobody left at Sears vendor portal to pay the Liqudators. Countdown to bankruptcy.

@mlk+1er85PyA I was wondering that too. They literally scrubbed all mention of Sears or Kmart from their website. I'm thinking (just a guess obviously), that they might be using another liquidator going forward. For the last 2 Years at least, as 1 "round" of stores began to wrap up, they would add another round. This Time, they just let Grass Valley Kmart drop off the list without adding any more. Very bizarre.

Yep! The Sears Kmart section is gone from the list of projects. Does this mean no plans to liquidate the last set of stores? Sell them to another entity while they are still operating?

Replying to yourself, nice.

Ya, I don't Know, man. Maybe they're doing it through another liquidator now, but that's just a guess. But you're right, I never imagined they would let that closing list run dry like that. They have almost always added a few more stores to replenish that closing list, before the old ones run out. This is unprecedented. I hope they put something in the pipeline soon. The sooner they get these remaining ones out of here, the better!
