Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Sale of New Corporate HQ in Charlotte

Honeywell just sold our brand new flagship headquarters for $275M. That proves That our leadership is scrambling to make year-end numbers. Funny this happens only months after the grand-opening.

And of course not a word to employees or shareholders detailing why.

What country are we already building our next “new HQ” in? China?

How much did they spend on moving everyone?

@2euo Yeah, Much of it is posted by people who only see and understand their local universe. My site, My department. And they assume the rest of the company is the same. They have no idea of the big picture. They are not intentionally posting nonsense they just don't know the reality. No offense but most people at Honeywell only know a fraction of what the company is all about.

This makes me wonder how much other stuff on this site is a load of cr-p.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — PRP Real Estate Investment Management has acquired the global corporate headquarters of Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE: HON) in Charlotte for $275 million. Lincoln Harris and Goldman Sachs Asset Management were the sellers.

If you take the time to read the article in the @ion post you will see that Honeywell did not own the building to begin with. See the sentence in the article "Lincoln Harris and Goldman Sachs Asset Management were the sellers".

For cash flow and tax purposes many companies choose to not in the real estate business and lease their buildings rather than own them. There's nothing to read into this.

Sold because D. A has been using his binocular on his desk to look at surrounding buildings, which is a big distraction to his work.

You no read so good.
Honeywell did not sell the building, as they were not the owners of the building. They signed a 15-year lease with the previous owners of the property, which will transfer to the new owners.

Nice try, but you just showed true ignorance of facts here.

So, the HQ reportedly cost $248M, Mecklenburg County is giving them $46M over a 15 year period. That's $202M net cost. Sold for $275M. $72 gain on $202 investment over a 2 or 3 year period seems pretty good. No matter how many zeros are behind the numbers. Just looking at the surface may be a lot more to it.
