Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Managing recalls

I think the issues requiring so many recalls could be much less common. However, Ford doesn't seem to care about that at all. Is this the company with the most recalls in the industry? I haven’t been able to investigate competitors in more detail, but it seems to me that Ford is the company with the most recalls.

There is a lot of pressure to put cars on the road to bring up revenues for short term dressing of financials. It will allow managers to claim bonuses for the period. Safety is secondary as managers hope to move to different jobs by the time the casualties occur. They figure it will be the next person's problem to fix.

Quality starts with the men and women at the top. Full Stop.

We at Ford could care less about quality. We care about 1) Removal of all experience and replacing these people with kids that know nothing. If Ford could get away with hiring high school children, they would. 2) We care about the color of your skin regardless of knowledge, skill or abilities. It is all a diversity numbers game. 3) We are obsessed with the idea of being a Tech company and selling customer data. We could care less of manufacturing a quality vehicle. 4) We are actually outsourcing as many white collar jobs to MX and elsewhere. Since we don't care about manufacturing vehicles, we don't need to worry about employing people that can afford the vehicles because we are a Tech company that is looking for ways to monetizing people's data.

Well said and that’s why I won’t buy one. I have seen how the sausage is made at Ford and don’t trust one for me or my family.

At Ford, we purchase the CHEAPEST POSSIBLE COMPONENTS, and yet still try to beat suppliers down further on cost. This is only part of the problem, the other issue is POOR QUALITY MANUFACTURING. There is absolutely no good reason we cannot install seatbelts properly, we’ve only been doing it for 70 years…
