Thread regarding Denbury Resources Inc. layoffs

What do they actually expect?

I was never a slacker. I love my job and it was never a problem to work a lot of overtime hours. However, this is really becoming too much now. Months ago, they added more work to my plate. When they saw that I can do it, they added even more. By now I've come to realize that they have no limits at all. Do I have to give notice for them to figure out that enough is enough? Is their goal to get people to leave this place?

They’re obviously tryna run you off.

Do us all a favor and go so we can get someone in who will do better.

Same song, different verse. Was no different 10 years ago. They abuse the work ethic of their good employees.

no don't give notice. Just do minimal work and push back on what they give you. Let them give it to someone else. Why should you be the one to do so much and then feel like quitting? Let them give it to the slacker who is always dropping the ball. Unless they promote you and give you a giant raise.

They won't be able to replace anyone, companies can't find warm bodies much less someone who can write coherent sentences.

Company doesn't care about its people. They are just tools. Everyone is replaceable in their eyes. Reality is they don't give a damn as long as you make them money

Perform the duties on your job that you signed a contract for and do nothing more than that or they will abuse you and never bump you up to the next level in your pay grade.
