Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Some are still happy to work at Honeywell

I am happy to have a job. You make the choice to work for a corporation. Decisions are made on a corporate levell. And those same decisions are made across all corporations, regardless of the BS people here want you to believe about going somewhere else. According to a nationwide survay, I would be concidered "rich", because of my yearly income in the area that I live/work. Of course, I choose to work more than the forced overtime amount, and then I take time off when I choose to. Work hard, Play hard. Leave your workplace problems at the workplace.

All the whiny negative babies here. Still at Honeywell "being a part of the problem" as one Nancy said in a comment. 🤣🤣🤣

My experience at Honeywell was if you enjoyed it there, you were likely part of the reason others were looking for another job.

Honeywell is a huge conglomerate with many different businesses. Its not going to be the same experience for all of us. I suspect most of the incessant complainers are from Aero? Maybe work in manufacturing? Don't know, just the sense I get based on the complaints.

I am reasonably happy where I am, the job pays well, its stressful sure but I get to work on interesting stuff. Having to deal with IT or even worse security is absolutely horrible though. But I suspect its like that in most large companies these days.

The issue is that 30% or more are putting in the least possible effort. Not sure how a company can ride itself to greatness with that effort

@OP-I agree with you and everyone's experience is not the same. I have had a pretty good 35 years as well and of course some things could be better. Lot of things going down hill and recently see that management several levels up really does not have a clue how to make us better or in fact know what my job actually is. I do hate the 9 block and the HPD. Fortunate to have a fairly good string of managers recently(that is probably a differentiator). Glad to have a job and going to hold on for as long as I can. I will say though that you will probably not get a lot of thumbs up or love for your opinion on this particular site.

Good luck. Low expectations will keep you happy.
I make 30 percent more for half the work as a software developer at my new company ( raymond james, financial). I have an office. The place looks like a million bucks and I feel like a million bucks coming to work.

Honeywell is an embarrasing dump with a 1/8th complete remodel based on the open ofice plan that is unsafe. The grounds are weeds, there is trash sitting outside the loading docks that has been there for YEARS. The place reminds me of my fathers house after he had a stroke and could not maintain the house.. it just crumbled.

If you fail to renegotiate your salary now you will miss the greatest opportunity in your lifetime. Bottom line truth.

Another HR troll trying to convince people that the Honeywell cesspool of greed, fear, and loathing is the same everywhere else. NOT TRUE. There really are other places that don't treat you like a liability. You just have to be willing to leave Honeywell.

I'm sure there is alot who like working for UOP as I do but when allied and then Honeywell came in and plucking away at UOP and pushing all the other gender cr-p it's not as much fun. To me a job/work should be a place to have fun and such while still getting the work done. Not anymore since you have worry about unrealistic goals, make boxes are green, learning hub which glad don't pertain to your job and the worst part the back stabbers that run to HR for measly cr-p.

So, OP, you condone the evil nine block / phoney employee evaluations and the stress and pain that goes with that? Have you never worked at a company that actually cared about their employees? Just because other companies are equally bad is no excuse for what goes on at this company.

What is a "survay"? Jk, I know you meant "survey", but in order to look like I'm contributing, there's some value added commenting... ;)
HoN ain't so bad for some, tis true. For those under bad managers, just let em know, get away from them, or give them the half @$$ work they're demanding and accept all the accolades graciously.

Well, someone's got to rate the company high on their surveys. Might as well be you (OP).

So the decisions that are made by a company rated 737/750 in an employee survey are the same as made by a company rated in the top 50? Nope, not even close. The complaints raised here are valid. Management needs to listen and adapt, or the company will continue on its death spiral.

Well that's good. I guess you still have a half decent boss not breathing down your neck micromanaging you or asking you to train your replacement or requiring you to do the work of 4 other guys who already left the company.
