Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Not everybody is unhappy here

It’s a fallacy to believe that everyone at ATT is unhappy and no one enjoys their position. Perhaps you’ve not found the right spot for your skills, ability, and goals. It’s a big company with lots of opportunities if you have the right skills. If you’re mobile and don’t mind relocating, that might open many doors for some folks. Don’t listen to those who post here with nothing but criticism, resentment and ill will. They wouldn’t work in a pie factory without whining.

Well said, @1ndd+1ehyx8Gs.

Could be a few that are happy, most are miserable!

Non essential work and employees are not subjected to the hate from management. Makes sense why you would by a happy employee.

T like most places isn't monolithic, there's quality divisions and groups, but any public company this large especially with a lot of legacy systems and employees, is gonna have its issues. The biggest one by far is the fact that hard /quality work and loyalty to your boss, doesn't mean jack when there's a leadership change, and you fall on the wrong side of the accounting ledger..

OP is either an L3+ or is brand new to the company. I will say when I first started and for the first 3-4 years, things were great. After that, it’s been constant reorganizations, new bosses, lay-off after layoff, watching top notch people get walked out the door and seeing absolute know nothings advance and run the show. Maybe in your neck of the woods things are rosey, but for some of us working an insane amount of hours to get our jobs done and holding up more than our load, this place blows and I can’t wait to get another job offer. I like most of the people I work with and have a ton of respect for the old timers that keep this place running. Without them, this place will sink. Many will be retiring by the end of the year due to the benefits cuts.

You’re crying in your beer — again! Stop whining! And the name calling ‘inbred’….really?! You’re not the only person who was ever laid off, fired, downsized….Get over yourself! People lose their jobs every day…but YOU are uniquely ‘done wrong’???.Sure….The difference between you and someone else who’s lost a job and hits the ground running to get back on their feet is they have spine and backbone—something you clearly lack. Sickening and pathetic. Go find a job and get off the pity p-t!

I worked on the phones - lousy job. I worked as an indoors technician - terrific job. The idea that AT&T is a monolith is nonsense. It all depends on the job.

@pto+1eoS47og - spoken like a true att inbred. just blame the people they lay off because we know they were the non relatives and buddies - I mean poor performers.

this is the problem at cesspool at att. they never make mistakes it is always someone else - government legislature, the stock market, the customers. it is never att cesspools fault because they are perfect and the customer should listen to what att tells them what they need.

keep up the great work.

Keep talking T up, won't do any good. T is on a downward spiral, highly doubtful this will change. Go ahead, bury your head in the sand, the debt load will destroy what is left of T.

Regardless of where you work there will always be decisions made or leadership choices that you may not agree with…..Successful people look past those things and keep moving forward and they don’t point to others for their failures, disappointments or lack of success. Whining, attempts to tear down a company’s or individual’s reputation, and wishing ‘ill will’ is emblematic of weakness. The majority of the posts here are like that, unfortunately.

It does seem that all the whining comes from conservakooks and rinosaurs.

The right skill in Att is to be able absorb the cr-p which expects behind each corner there. It doesn't matter what goals you have got - that company will destroy all your effort very quickly with tons of insane 'business rules' and 'thoroughly elaborated proccesses' managed by bunch of selfloved narcists.

I will never use att mobile products. the apps att creates are a waste of time and never understood why we even bother putting them on phones or tablets. the fact you can't remove some of the apps from the hardware people buy and own from att is despicable.

att mobile service has fell to number three for a reason. switched from att mobile and never had any problems and my service just works and works in places att would not work. go figure.
