Backfill Plan for Unvaxxed

FYI - I was told by a manager that once they have the 12/31 headcount, they are going to hire temps to cross train/shadow with anyone who is not vaccinated. If you get vaxed by 3/1, they let the temp go.

Also just found out they are pushing back the return to office date, which is now TBD.

“The person leaving after he/she receives their bonus, give us an update afterwards. Good luck on your job search. I know a lot of people in financial and non financial companies and they all requiring employees to be vaccinated. It's been on the news.”

Job search has been going great (3 competing offers), thanks for your concern. Minimal research will show you firms, both large and small, that aren’t enforcing a vaccine mandate. Instead of relying on what people say or what’s on the news, dig deeper- find out for yourself. Think for yourself.

Will they admit they were wrong to fold under pressure and buy into the nonsense while they stressed out their employees and forced them to give up their medical freedom or face losing the job they have been doing just fine without a vaccine. What happens a few months or years from now when all these people start seeing their body doing strange things because they took an experimental dr-g. Will you get to use your unlimited PTO? I dont remember anyone in the interview process who knew anything about medicine and science. Values went out the window on this one.

Well, now the Supreme Court has correctly rejected the mandate, we shall see if TIAA sticks to its plan to fire the unvaxxed. I guess we'll see if they really believe in their employees personal freedom or if this is just another veiled reason to get rid of more people because the business is drying up? Just a reminder....all those "World's Most Ethical Companies" awards are complete and utter hogwash. The company that bestows these "awards" is a for profit consulting firm and will name any business to their list if they get paid enough money. Look up the background on the company, Ethisphere. Its a complete joke. A scam. It's just like those scambo companies that used to try to sell "Who's Who In American (insert industry here)" guides. Pay your $120 bucks for the book and guess what?? Your named a Who's Who!!!! TIAA and other companies like Waste Management pay them when they need to repair a bad ethical Reputation or when, like TIAA, their whole marketing approach is to brag about superior ethics so they can lull you into believing it..... so they can rip you off.

While I am vaccinated, I am completely against the mandate. No company should force a decision like this on its employees. I plan on leaving after bonuses pay out as TIAA’s values no longer align with mine. There are plenty of job openings with competitors who are not enforcing a vaccine mandate. Leaving based on principles.

I love how they have so little faith in the vax that they mandate that they have to delay opening the offices.

"A lot of large organizations are asking for employees to be vaccinated so good luck on your journey. Also, if you are financially ok, why did you continue to work for an organization that you dislike? Make it make sense."

Please tell me where I said I disliked the company prior to their vaccine mandate? You clearly are obtuse. Therefore let me repeat this slowly for you: I.....was.....ok.....with.....TIAA.....up.....UNTIL.....they.....passed.....this.....ridiculous.....vaccine.....requirement.

So upon learning of their decision, I also made a decision of my own as well. Aren't you pro-vaxxers always taunting the unvaccinated that we have "freedom of choice" and how "no one's forcing you". Well exactly, so my DECISION was to not comply and allow them to "exit" me.

And by "financially ok" I meant that I am grateful that I actually have the option NOT to comply and can wait it out until I'm eventually let go. And will be able to sustain myself for a lengthy period of time. (It's no different than when RIF's are announced at a company and some people freak completely out because they know they're not in the best place financially and/or they haven't been with the company long enough to get a good severance package, so they worry how long it'll take them to find another job and if they'll be able to stay afloat until then. While others are not in the slightest bit concerned because they qualify for a great severance package and/or have a nice emergency savings and know they'll be just fine).

I know there'll be people that felt they have no choice and either have already or plan to go ahead and give in and get the shot. And no one should have to feel that their back is against the wall.

Careful there, you sound a bit miserable. Perhaps your almighty and ever-powerful vaccine is beginning to wane and affect your sensibilities. Oh but no worries, you were automatically enrolled in the lifetime Booster Club. I'll stop talking now and let you go so you can roll up that sleeve now and forever more. Cheers!!!

D a m n straight. From the moment their little edict came down I started planning an "exit" of my very own, been on cruise control ever since and eagerly awaiting 3/1. And I'd be d a m n e d if they think I was going to just roll over and turn over my medical history or divulge my religion to them and their d i c t a t o r s h i p. They can take that whole "accommodation" process and shove it where the sun don't shine.

Good luck to them on their "backfilling" in such a highly analytical role as mine, it is not one wherein you can simply pluck any fool off the street corner and train, especially not in the timeframe between now and 3/1.

So thankful I am in a place financially where I can ride it out and happily bid them adieu in two months. What I'd give to be a fly on their wall come 3/2 and beyond......I hope their overreach ends up biting them good and hard.

It saddens me however for those who truly feel like their back is against the wall and will feel forced to either take the jab or leave and be unemployed.
