Did I hear correctly that the NOC in Bedminster NJ is now closed & everyone is working remote? Does anyone know if this is true?

Good luck with that. Bedminster NOC handles all FCC reporting, which must be filed domestically and cannot be 100% automated. A human must review and attest to the accuracy of the report before filing. When the NOC began hiring a night tour in India, the Indian folks still had to call Bedminster to file any FCC report. This is because the FCC has no jurisdiction internationally. So yes, Bedminster NOC has been working from home since March 2020 and received notice in the fall that the center is closing, but the work is not going away.
Middletown is more likely to be cut adrift . The lease is set to expire in a year or two and much to big a campus for the WFH post covid office.
T should start now buldozing all these dinosour buildings, contentents included. There is little value in most of these administrative buildings. Not sure how many are leased vs. owned. Start bulldozing the buildings that are owned and buy out the lease on the remaining buildings. Then pay down the 150B debt!
If all of these offices are closing, why doesn't AT&T try to make some money & sell some of the furniture, tables, copy machines, monitors, tv's etc.? That room for Flex Force in MT cost millions, one of the chairs alone was $1,300 a piece. I'd buy a few file cabinets and chairs for my new home office.
Jobs that prove to be able to be 100% completed outside of a physical office will also soon be moved offshore.
Search the internet for "Bedminster At&t repurposing" and you'll find articles about the town of Bedminster preparing for the whole location to be shut down. They are also supposedly closing up parts of Middletown.
Dealing with those people was always a huge pain in the rear, but I will admit they were on top of their game during disasters.
Not closed, just mothballed. Waiting to see what course covid takes. Its possible no one will ever return to the conventional office environment. No one knows.
People in the NOC have been working remote since the pandemic started, just like everyone else.
