Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

I'm breaking at the seams

I need to do something or else I'll have a full-blown mental breakdown. I want to take stress leave but I'm not sure if that's even possible. Has anybody taken stress leave before? Do I need to go to a doctor to qualify? I don't care if it's unpaid. I can't afford to just quit but I can afford a few weeks without income.

Don’t go to HR at the start. Go to your doctor, explain, let them sign you off work due to your illness (stress). After a certain amount of time on leave company may have you see their own doctor to confirm it’s genuine for long term leave. HR will respect what a doctor says not what an employee thinks they want.

Most teams are not doing fine. I am current employee in support and it is absolutely horrible. Sounds like BObC write that post or one of his shills. Morale is at an all time low, just had a round of layoffs and more coming, stock sunk to two year low and hiring has been frozen while many people left. You aren’t in touch with reality call your doctor immediately.

reach out to ask HR they will help you get started on the medical leave. No need to burst or anything. they also cover i think 60% or 70% of your pay during that time. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I know of three other people going on leave for mental anguish. This place sucks Donky ballz and will contionue until management is overthrown but honestly why even stick around for that. They are going to close shot soon enough.

When on leave you should take the time and to recharge and apply to other jobs. I highly doubt it's going to get any better in the coming year, especially if they keep the same leadership.

Your mental health will be much better at another organization, take it from me, and many of us that left, we were in the same position. I knew it was bad when I was there, but now that I am with a great company who don't micromanage and are treating you like a human, I realized how fu---d up it truly was and how toxic the mangement was.

I actually like to wake up and log into work again. I watched the earnings report with the new org and it was amazing. The C suite didn't look like they were being held against their will by ISIS to present the quarterly earnings, and sounded happy.

Reach out to AskHR@Citrix.com and request information about FMLA. You can get 80% paid leave for 1 month with just a general doctor for anxiety/depression/etc.

Honestly , most teams in the company are doing fine and are adjusting. There was a lot of churn around the layoffs, but teams are regrouping and refocusing. If work / life balance is an issue and you feel you are under pressure to work extreme hours to meet your team's business goals, then definitely bring up to your manager and to HR. Please escalate quickly to senior leadership if no response. It is hard to tell sometimes if these complaints are legit or just from someone just trying to create the impression of insurmountable problems which is not the case. There are people who care, so if this is a true complaint, please escalate.

Go see your doctor and take the time off they suggest. Put yourself first always. You don't need to disclose to your manager why you are signed off if you don't want to. Sometimes telling them does help as they can control workload and help rebalance. If they understand what causes you stress they can help manage it without reaching breaking point.

You have to get help with this. Go see your physician and get him to sign you off. If need be speak to your manager or HR.
