Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

New PTO and Sick Leave Policies for 2022.

They will likely be great from a recruiting aspect and the younger employees will like the more flexible policy. Not sure what the more senior employees think. I liked the structure of our former policy but will adjust. Change is hard, but now always bad. Would love to see your comments here.

Just take the time as you need it.
nice to give a heads up when you can but life doesn't Nothing special. Clueless leadership says NO. Just chuckle say yeah right and walk away. Send your email reminding them the night before or early am of day(s) off...

In reply to how is this legal....the best country in the world is only the best country in the world to be an employer, not an employee. Look up your state laws and you will find most don’t have minimum vacation rules on the books. God bless America! Talk to an employment lawyer

It's a trap! I could never take off PTO when I worked here before being a "covid" layoff. If you take time off, you won't get your work done, so consider yourself at zero time off!!

Unlimited PTO sounds good but it allows employers to avoid paying out PTO balances when an employee leaves, since there aren't any. Thus, it reduces the dollars in accounts payable which improves the balance sheet of the company.

PB will save a lot of money for his bonus by not paying employees the PTO hours they accrued 👍

They can offer what ever leave plan they feel to offer. The manager says no.. you call in sick..I'll or let them know your taking it. It is your paid time off. It is your to take.

I’ve been with the company for quite awhile (HBOC, McKesson, and now Allscripts) and had been entitled to 28+ days PTO a year, which was a big factor in keeping from looking for another job. Even with the new policy I intend to and expect to be entitled to the same amount! If management says no, I’ll be more then willing to look for other employment or even retire if feasible. With epic and cerner out there, I really don’t see a bright future for Allscripts. When Allscripts acquired McKesson a lot of employees got screwed when they switched them from non exempt to exempt.

There is a catch. It has to be approved by your manager. There is no min or max. So they so no all the time? You quit? They owe you nothing!

Why should someone with 1 year of service be entitled to the same amount of time off as someone with 10 years of service ?
