When will this layoff take place
Word from a mid-level Pearson exec to a former Pearsonite who long ago moved on: starting in January, field reps will call on IT, Business, Psych, Science & Math only.
Perhaps this has been announced already . . . ?
No idea what that means for headcount. Happy Holidays!
‘Love for us to believe that’
I’m after info as much as anyone else - there’s just sometimes rational explanations. It makes logical sense that call could have been about something like that. Take your tin foil hat off.
You would love for us to believe that
Probably was just about the new chair of the board?
Adding to last comment: High performers making more or less than others were
let go. There was no clear cut reason why they chose the employees they did in the last layoff.
Salary was not the determining factor in the last layoff. I know this because we discussed what our salaries were and some people making less but were high performers were laid off.
The high performers who were let go were due to salary.
Last layoff they let high performers go while keeping people on performance plans. This tells me that it doesn't matter how good or how poor you perform. They pick the people that get laid off at random. I really hope they include some of the worst managers and directors in this layoff. I never understood how they get to stay when they do nothing productive.
Managers of which functions were there? All of them?
Are they any updates to this? My manager just came out of that meeting and is being pretty vague on what it was about.
