Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Nutjobs at Ford??

Good Lord, reading the posts over the last couple months here has me definitely not wanting to go back into the office COVID or not . Reading the endless recent delusional antivax, Q Anon conspiracy theory commentary makes me wonder how many psycho nutjobs I worked alongside. People so on the edge of sanity/ reality I'm honestly worried if we go back in the office what they are capable of if the slightest thing doesn't go their way. I seriously hope Ford is taking note.

I love working from home.

This entire Covid nonsense has been the greatest boon one could ever ask for, ever. To do things you could normally never do, while times were good.

They tried the carrot. They tried the stick. They'll come to find out that neither f**king one mattered. At all.

I don't want to go back to the office either, but it is not because of political disagreements with co-workers. I clearly don't need to be there to get my work done, and I save 2 hours every day on commute time. I certainly don't want to be around a bunch of authoritarian control freaks that are going to nit pick about masks and social distance and vaccines.

I frankly don't care if you have gotten the vaccine. That is your personal business. All I'm asking is for you to extend the same respect to me regarding my personal health decisions. You can't do that? Fine, I'm more than happy with staying at home and away from you.

Sounds more like you work at home with virtual contact only. The buildings in the R&E Center, and the guys I work around are pretty open about their opinions but not extreme to the point where they dislike or hate someone because they are on one side or the other. It is just a job. The deep state is only in your head!

Brush up your resume, you may not have a job this time next year.

Not a troll have been against a mandate.

To the last commenter

Most if us that are anti mandate know who to talk to at work about such subject and who to keep our mouths shut around. Trust me leftys have difficulty keeping shut about politics and their desire to control us via government. Only fool would make statements of anti government anything around a leftists so you are not hearing anything because they know to keep quiet around you or some of us have a general rule to not discuss government mandates, race or religion at Work.

My political philosophy is more li ertarian conservative go look up the Non Agression Principle. Most of us dont trust gov and just want to be left the he-l alone.

Fear and control is how leftists operate and it bothers you we are not buying what you are selling.
How many boosters have you taken of oh glorious vaccine?

I somewhat agree with the OP.

I work in VEV and have been back since the lockdown ended. We have differences in opinion but no one in the buildings that I work with holds such radical views as I have seen posted on this website. At least they don't express such. If they did the vaccine mandate will soon eliminate them from their jobs.

Most of these posts tend to come from trolls who' paid objective is the scare people and spread misinformation.

To the last commenter: HEAR HEAR!

The vaxs are quickly becoming obvious as an endless review stream for Big Pharma. Ironic that the people that hated the dr-g companies the most (liberals) are now acting as if the dr-g companies are altruistic heroes in the fight against COVID. When in reality it is a money grab of the likes we haven't never seen. Don't believe me? Go look at Pfizer's, Moderna's, and Johnson & Johnson's stock prices over the last year. These companies are laughing all the way to the bank as the left and the media and the government and big companies do their dirty work for them!

Glad tidings of great joy, comrades! There is no such thing as fully vaxxed anymore. Since glorious vaccine does not guarantee you won't get or give coronavirus to/from someone else, you can keep getting more and more of glorious vaccine to protect yourself. Furthermore, discussions are already occurring about fourth and fifth boosters of glorious vaccine elsewhere in the world. More and more glorious vaccine! Keep saving yourselves!

There are enough divisive things in this country to let vaccine / no vaccine become another one. It is damaging friends, family, and business. It does not have to be a screaming match.
I am retired, happily from the politics , the DEI cults, and the often captain-less ship but I probably speak for many that there has been a steady stream of 4 take-aways from retiree benefits this year. Got letters/email in October, November, and December. Ford has trimmed about $20k over what they provided over prior. So I understand the Company can do whatever they want, and I can whatever I want as well as that is a hefty down payment on a new Ford or payments, or non-Ford vehicle purchased. Am I that petty? It's not a yes or no answer but commitment is a 2 way street. But they are not truthful by saying how much retirees are valued. Tolerated maybe but not valued. It is true legally the company promises may not be binding and only words. It is true the prepared always have back up plans. Many just believed Ford would honor what they promised in the package agreements we signed, although I a sure there are wiggle words in fine print I did not see. Current and future retirees I wish you well.

The retrumplicans are everywhere. Many are becoming extinct as they refuse to take the vaccine that their hero trumpy rushed to market to save his job. Seems odd. Yet trumpy got the shot - why don’t they get it then?

The people with the most extreme views will always be the most vocal so odds are the true nut jobs on both sides are not as widespread as you might think. To be blunt, I think it's just as much about disdain for those with different views than the impact of vaxxing or not. People who are vaxxed just don't want to be around "conspiracy touting" anti-vaxxers and anti-vaxxers don't want to be around "sheep". There really aren't good arguments against the vax and the most common is "we don't know the long term effects!!" which is negated by the fact that long term effects of covid aren't known, but we do know the vax is effective at minimizing transmission and severe cases. There's always been nut jobs and always will be (on both sides), the internet just lets them get in your face more frequently.

The biggest fools I know are the ones that still take what the media, government or their corporate partners say as truth. Unfortunately, we are left on our own to decrypt and decipher what the actual truth is because all of these institutions are unambiguously corrupt.

Most of the people I work with in PD could give a sh*t about what is posted on this site, other than involuntary layoffs or reduction of retiree benefits. So, the people doing most of the posting must be trolls or IT ;-)

Left wing nuts when DT was president: “Oh no he’s going to destroy America”

Left wing nuts when Joe is in the WH actually destroying America “at least he’s not the Cheeto!!”

Somebody make it make sense. The majority of people here are kind, smart coworkers, but how did they all fall for the CNN lamestream media. It makes me sad, I’ve tried helping them but they just don’t want to hear it. I fear they are too brainwashed to ever see the truth

I don’t care if you are vaccinated or not. The sooner you realize as a salaried employee you are vulnerable to any whim of the Company the better you’ll be prepared for the next one you’re subjected to.

And it’s not just Ford. Take a look at some of the other Layoff pages of major companies and the discussions are similar.

Hey, almost retired guy,

Thanks for your concern. Despite the company’s duplicity, I’m going to be just fine. Still doesn’t change the fact that promising retirement benefits as an incentive to get people to leave and then breaking that promise once they accept the separation offer is wrong and probably illegal.

But don’t let it bother you. I’m sure you’ll change your tune and remove your head from where it’s stuck when it’s your turn to be on the receiving end of the company’s treatment of workers it doesn’t want around. Then I’m sure you’ll squeal like a stick pig. Good luck.

Hey retired guy

I’m not that far from being retired. The harsh reality is other than what you have contributed to your pension the Company owes you nothing now that you don’t work there.

If you didn’t plan ahead or are in a bind , find another job or modify your lifestyle to fit your income.

I agree, as someone who is college educated and not a sheep I’m hoping they don’t send us back to the office. I don’t want to be stuck with all these Fauci Followers shedding their mRNA crud all around the office.

And how many times are they going to bring up Jan 6th? Yawn, find something else to complain about already and stop living in the past

Offering people a voluntary separation and then taking their healthcare benefits isn’t good economics not is it honorable. It’s sleaze to the utmost. And that’s what Ford has become.

Complete and total sleaze.

I thought college educated people would understand economics and see retiree benefits have been reduced everywhere. Complaining about it is OK because it’s your ox.

Ford is a private company , they can do whatever they want. It’s just a problem when they do something YOU don’t agree with.

The nuts are the woke. And there are way too many of them at the company not to mention the king woke leader bill. Just look at the atFord homepage. We are supposed to be an auto maker. Not a haven for social justice warriors and a sanctuary for woke. The dei stuff is overwhelming at this company. Just like our nation's government.

We are supposed to be designing, engineering, and building motor vehicles.

Huh? Uhhmm time to get in the office and do some work instead of watching CNN, or just go back to bed. There are others who will do your job in Mexico and other places overseas, for a fraction of your salary.

I've been reading the ridiculous posts too. The amount of anger in getting vaccinated amazes me. I thought college educated people would understand that this is a very new, constantly changing virus and would understand that the vaccines will change or need to be modified. I just got my booster this week. My biggest complaint is how the company is screwing retirees with medical. I wish they'd complain about real issues, not conspiracy theories.

Actually I think the OP has point. if these people will attack the capital, beat police officers, and want to hang the VP - over a lie. You have to think twice about what kind of other imaginary things are going on in their heads and that they might hurt people in the workplace. These people are way past deplorable as the other person said, they are simply dangerous to society. No joke, they think they are sane and what they do is cute and funny when really they are in a deep psychosis.
